The UrbanItes - Headliner

Hailing from Milwaukee, Urban Empress and The UrbanItes call forth a rootsy vibe of reggae, ska, dub, hip-hop, and neo-soul, rocking it steady with original songs and select reggae standards. The songs tell the heartfelt tale of perseverance through adversity as a Rasta woman, mother and community leader.

Tim Korry - Opener

Following in his Irish great grandfather’s fiddle- playing footsteps, Tim began mastering the guitar at the age of 17.  While continuously writing, Tim also picked up on percussion instruments and bass guitar.  His primary musical influences were Peter Gabriel, The Beatles, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and U2. By the early 1990’s, Tim happened upon a few other talented Milwaukee musicians and co-founded the band Rhinocerotic.  He added his guitar, vocal, and songwriting stylings to this psychedelic groove- rock band as they recorded two successful albums and developed a strong and faithful following-- opening locally for Green Day and Badfinger, and performing a post show for The Black Crowes.  Tim and Rhinocerotic also played the Rock Stage at Milwaukee’s “Big Gig” Summerfest many times, and performed on the nationally syndicated Jenny Jones Show in 1999.  Tim went on to lend his songwriting and performance talent to local cover and blues bands D- Flowers, Mercury Mayhem, and the Handsome Devils.

Present-Day:

In the new millennium, Tim moved on to solo work; and in 2007, debuted his original album Music from Earth, available from iTunes and CD Baby.  The album was a labor of love and gives a glimpse into the darkness of relationships and the light of self- discovery.  Tim performed, recorded and mixed the entire album himself.  He received recognition from the Kramp & Adler Morning Show as a promising local artist and his first single, “All My Colors” was played on WLUM 102.1.  Tim released his second original extended play album, Between the Sun & the Moon, to iTunes and Amazon on January 1, 2011. The album was partially recorded, mixed, and mastered at Taylor Studios in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  It is a mix of alternative rock and pop with a hint of retro and a splash of World Music.  Five songs from the album were recently featured on the Kenosha 91.1 FM “Noon Tunes” program.  The physical EP is available from the timkorry.com Emporium.  Tim is now back in the studio writing and recording, and continues to entertain live with professional musicians who believe in his music, his vision, and his message.

Imminently Forthcoming:

If you ask music performer and recording artist Tim Korry why he does it, he will simply say, “I am the music and the music is me.  It comes from the Holy Spirit.  It speaks to me and I write it.”  If you ask others about Tim, they will say he is “original, from the heart, memorable, unique, a great song writer, a great person, and just what Indie Music needs”.  Tim looks forward to beginning collaboration and production of a new music video very soon.  His live entertainment vision is to present an eclectic multi- sensory experience to his audiences, always leaving them wanting more.  His ultimate goal is to continue to write, record, and perform his original music, and have as many people as possible listen to it, share it; and above all… love it.
